A minutes silence before the game was observed to mark the passing of David Whyte a former player from Greenwich Borough who went on to play for Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Bristol Rovers and Southend United.

The Boro were starting this game on the back of two massive wins in the FA Cup and FA Vase and were keen to demonstrate to the crowd of 119 that they were now playing a type of football that Jenko and his management team have been working hard to deliver.

Chessy kicked off and straight away made an attack down the right and shoot, Holloway calmly takes the ball and distributes immediately Boro have the ball and Danny Young is taken down by Ade Oketoki a crude tackle (not a cynical one) which results in a free kick.

10 minutes in and Boro continue to put pressure on the Chessy Defence Lewis Wood jinking trough the defence and passing a low ball across the 18 yard box, Chessy clear only to give away yet another free kick , Chris Edwards delivers a high ball over wall on the 18 yard box Keeper flaps and collects ball on second attempt , yet more pressure from Boro on the defence resulting in a corner. Frankie Beal delivers a great cross Danny Young rises, heads but goes over the bar.

Chessy are starting to get into the game and break once again down the right Danny Phillips keeps pace with Mathew ELLIS who gets frustrated and pulls Phillips Shirt, yet another free kick to Boro, this game is becoming one free kick after the other and the opposition travelling support are letting the officials know.

With 4 minutes to half time Boro start another attack once again the mid field interplay between Danny Phillips, and Chris Saunders sets up Chris Saunders for a shot , it looks as if it’s a goal to Boro ! no just wide the ref blows for half time 0-0

Steve Jerrom links well with Paul Vines and shows energy both going forward and tracking back a good 10 minutes for the U18
