After Two Leg Breaks in one season, Jessie Looks for a Lucky One

By Greenwich Borough

Jesse Darko will be given all the time he needs in 2016/17

One serious injury in a season is bad enough but our forward Jesse Darko will want to forget 2015/16 after suffering two breaks and an extensive time on the sidelines as The Borough pushed on to the SCEFL Title and promotion to Ryman League South.

With the season less than a month old an away trip to Beckenham Town in the FA Cup on 29th August ended in a broken fibula for Jesse after a crunching collision with Becks Keeper Alex Hyde in the closing minutes of the match.

Jessie started on his long road back to recovery and after six months returned to the first team making a late substitute appearance away to Croydon on 25th February. One more substitute appearance at Home to Erith Town four days later and Jessie was in the starting line up away to Lordswood on 27th Feb.

After just one week back Jesse suffered yet another leg break and after surgery and plates and pins was once again back on The Borough sidelines.

After a season to forget for our 22 year old forward manager Gary Alexander has assured Jesse that a place in the squad awaits him and he will be given all the time he needs.

Everyone at the club is wishing him a speedy recovery and hoping that he will indeed be pulling on a Borough shirt in the Ryman League South in 2016/17.
