With the first team squad travelling to Walton Casuals tomorrow night there is still a chance to get your fix of football at The DGS Stadium as our Under 18 squad will take to the pitch on Wednesday night (15th November) to take on their Whyteleafe FC counterparts.
The two young sides meet in the first round of the Kent Youth League Invitational Cup, formerly known as the John Ullman Cup.
Currently 4th in the KYL North Table this will be the first time that this squad has graced the turf of The DGS Stadium as this competition gives those teams that don't necessarily get to play at the parent clubs stadium, a chance to do so.
That being said, quite a few of the squad will be no strangers to the DGS as we did have a home draw earlier in the season in the FA Youth Cup which saw some of the U18 Squad join forces with Academy pupils based at the DGS unfortunately coming out on the wrong side of a 4-0 scoreline against Margate FC.
The boys have made their mark in cup competition this season with a record 13-2 win against Woodcombe FC in the 2nd round of the Kent County Cup at the end of last month, so there is a good chance of some goalmouth action.
I am sure Cliff, Doey and the boys would appreciate as much support on the night as possible and we hope that as many of our supporters, friends and family can get along on Wednesday to cheer them on!
